A Message from Program Director Cecelia Fitzgibbon

For those of you who are not on the list serve, this email went out this morning:

“Today many of you will hear the bittersweet news that I will be leaving Drexel this June to become the President of Moore College of Art & Design in July.  It was a long journey to come to this decision, in part because of my deep affection for the Arts Administration program, the students and graduates.  The last sixteen years as Professor and Program Director has made a substantial impact on my life, teaching me more than I taught others, giving me rewards far greater than I could have imagined.  While this might seem overly dramatic, it is true.  It is also true that change is good and that in embracing change we grow.  I see my next role at Moore as a continuation of what I began at Drexel, as an opportunity to influence the careers of creative workers and a chance to make a difference because, “to whom much is given; much is expected. ”  The students have given me the gift of walking beside them in their development as intellectuals and professionals; my colleagues have given me the gift of their friendship and this institution has allowed me to grow as a teacher and a leader.

Thank you to each of you, I will be forever grateful. I look forward to our continued association as the future unfolds.

Warmest regards,

Cecelia”
